Why should I modify my braking system?

The original brakes are more and more efficient as production cars become more and more powerful today. But in a large number of cases, significant points of improvement must be taken into account depending on how people use their car.

The new Brembo TY3 discs (Brembo SPORT range) are the ideal solution for a compromise between road and sports use. A solution that combines inimitable style, superior performance and the ease of use of a plug-and-play product interchangeable with the original drives.

Brembo TY3 discs use, as their name suggests, the “Type 3” slotting technology.

The Type3 slotting is the result of years of research and prototyping by the Brembo Racing Department and resembles the design of the discs used in the most important motorsports championships. This “slot” design has been widely used in most GT and endurance championships such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and is currently used in the WTCR World Championship.

The coefficient of friction of this disc is higher and this translates into superior braking performance (bite and endurance). The presence of Type3 grooving ensures continuous cleaning and renewal of the friction material, that is to say the surface of the pad, which allows consistency of performance even in the event of an increase in the number of braking operations.

The specific design of the milling on the brake ring increases friction and improves performance and brake modulation thanks to constant regeneration of the pad’s surface which gives more responsive, consistent braking. Compared with an original equipment disc, the new Brembo SPORT | TY3 guarantees a smoother brake pedal feel, improved performance, stability and resistance to fading: a quality that is much appreciated by those who love sportier driving.​

 

Even when driving on wet surfaces, Type3 grooving guarantees higher performance than other discs (with flat surfaces) by interrupting the veil of water that accumulates;

By entering between the disc and the pad, rainwater reduces the grip of the pad on the disc, which significantly reduces braking performance. With the grooves made by Brembo, rain is dispersed more quickly, improving the safety of the driver and other occupants of the vehicle.

The BREMBO HP2000 Sport Pads will improve braking efficiency via better alloy properties, with resistance up to 600°C and a coefficient of friction that is just as effective when hot or cold. They are approved for road use (ECER90) and will not cause any noise disturbance (common with Sport pads with a high ceramic content)
