Why do I need to change my brake system ?

OEM brake system become more and more efficient by the time the cars become more powerful from factory. But there is still some issues on some models that require a lot of attention from GIRODISC to offer a better solution than OEM

The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency.
The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum.  The disc is made from our own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc.  The rotor utilizes 48 curved directional vanes, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.

Which disc type should I choose : Slotted ? Drilled ?

Slotted discs will be useful during intense track session. They are stronger than Drilled discs over mechanic resistance, whereas the drilled discs will have a better heat evacuation; In any case, their brake efficiency will be the same between these two types.

GIRODISCS brake discs are a direct-fit replacement in the OEM caliper. You can add Sport Pads (recommanded to prevent discs life) that will increase your braking efficiency and durability with better materials (see options):

- Brembo HP2000 (road/sport): Sport pads resistant up to 600°c, offering very good bite both cold and hot. Ideal for road/sport use thanks to its ECER90 approval, without noise issue (squeaking).

- Endless MX87 (road/sport): The good alternative for occasional road & sport use with large thermal resistance (30°c - 700°c). They will respect everyday-use by protecting the disc from premature wear and avoiding noise issue from friction.

- Pagid RSL29 (track/endurance): Sport pads with a high ceramic content. Very strong bite and excellent endurance in more intensive use, ideal for more strenuous trackdays.

- Pagid RSL1 (track/endurance): Evolution of the Pagid RSL29 with better cold biting properties, and slightly better hot performance. The best development on the “yellow” endurance range at Pagid!

- Pagid RST3 (track/rallye): Developed for rallying, with a very high coefficient of friction; ideal for those who want to grab the last seconds of the clock with intense braking and "last moment"

- Endless ME20 (track/endurance): Semi-metallic component, developed for track and rally. Excellent braking power and continuous feedback to the pedal
Consistent performance even with disk temperatures above 650°C, and operating temperatures starting at 300°C.

*We strongly recommend the use of sports pads to guarantee the lifespan of the discs
