Porsche's DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) intake is a completely redesigned intake system designed to improve performance, fuel economy and emissions by optimizing the air-fuel mixture directly inside the combustion chamber .

The Porsche DFI engine is a finely tuned performance machine and it has proven difficult to find extra power. The unique design of Porsche's DFI intake system posed some very difficult tuning problems, but once again IPD has developed a design that outperforms the factory intake system without compromising reliability and drivability.

This innovative and revolutionary IPD DFI intake plenum utilizes the patented "Y" design along with an enlarged plenum area that allows for improved intake air velocity and velocity, resulting in a increase in performance without loss of power.

The intake plenum specifically designed for the 997.2 Carrera S 3.8L DFI is a direct bolt-on upgrade that replaces the stock air intake distributor and utilizes all pre-existing stock accessories and 82mm throttle body .

The improved IPD intake design allows for smoother, less turbulent and more efficient airflow, resulting in impressive horsepower and torque gains for Porsche driving enthusiasts.

The Plenum IPD DFI's superior design delivers an additional 15 horsepower to the wheels. Unlike previous naturally aspirated IPD plenums which offered greater gains in the mid range, the IPD DFI plenums offer a similar power curve to the factory, but are considerably more powerful from the mid range to the redline, without loss of power at low revs.

Installation of the IPD 3.8L DFI stilling chamber is relatively simple and can be performed by DIYers with a good knowledge of mechanics, but IPD strongly recommends that installation be performed by a trained and qualified technician.
