EVENTURI Carbon Air Intake for BMW X3M F97

BMW's X3M / X4M intake configuration, while clumsy at first glance, is a very well-designed system in the space available. The flow path from the filters to the turbo inlets is very direct and does not change direction as abruptly as typical OEM airbox designs. So instead of a complete redesign, Eventuri focused on improving the OEM airbox with less restrictive flow and improved temperature efficiency.

Eventuri developed replacement filters made from non-woven mesh that have a much higher flow rate compared to the original paper filters. To help reduce intake air temperatures and force air into the airbox, Eventuri designed large front scoops that sit behind the grilles. The carbon scoops channel air into the ducts and effectively delineate the inlet side of the airbox.
