IPD Competition Pack GT3 Intake with Throttle Body for Porsche 997 Turbo MKI

The revolutionary and patented design of the aluminum "Y design" IPD intake chambers significantly improves air intake flow by replacing the original "T" design plastic pipe.

The IPD intake chamber distributes airflow much more efficiently by using a fusion manifold to avoid pressure drop, reduce turbulence to increase airflow velocity. This superior, proven design ultimately results in significant horsepower gains across the entire power and torque range.

IPD has tested numerous internal surfacing techniques inside the plenum, including polishing, extrusion lapping, epoxy coating, and shot blasting to name a few.

A sustained development program and countless hours on the dyno testing/refining each model of intake chamber to achieve the highest level of quality and performance for your Porsche®.

Join the thousands of satisfied users of IPD admission chambers made in the USA!

The throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to the accelerator pedal (Located between the air flow meter and the intake plenum ).

The largest part inside the throttle body is the throttle plate, which is a butterfly valve that regulates airflow. With a larger diameter body, the airflow will be greater for more power. This 82mm Butterfly Upgrade fits Competition Plenums.

The incredible 997 Porsche Turbo is the most revolutionary and high performance Porsche Turbo ever to come out of Germany. The already explosive power can be further increased with the 997 Turbo IPD intake plenums.

The patented IPD Plenum design works exceptionally well with all forced induction applications and the 997 Turbo is no exception. The horsepower and torque increases provided by the IPD plenum are impressive and stay above all factory power curves from launch to redline. Maximum power increases occur in the midrange, where they are most needed and most critical.

Maximum power gains range from 30 to 35 depending on vehicle condition and pre-existing modes. 997 Turbo plenums deliver smooth, linear power with significantly faster boost response, creating a longer, more desirable powerband. Turbo Plenums deliver reliable performance for street and motorsport applications, enhancing the already visceral Porsche Turbo driving experience.

Unlike the 996 Turbo, the 997 Turbo requires an "acclimatization" period which can be fully achieved with either a series of intense dyno pulls or between 10 and 50 miles of hard driving, which, of course, IPD only recommends to be performed on a closed circuit race track.

The 997 Turbo has an extremely sensitive ECU/DME, which makes it prone to external environmental corrections, so it is imperative that proper, adequate and consistent cooling is available to achieve accurate and reliable dyno figures both before and after. each test.

It is strongly recommended that the installation of all Turbo Plenums be performed by qualified and trained Porsche technicians.

Turbo customers looking to increase engine power without pushing the motorsport envelope to the redline would benefit most from the 74mm IPD Turbo plenum.

This version of the 997 Turbo Plenum uses the factory 74mm throttle body and offers impressive performance gains for stock and slightly modified turbos with exhaust and software. Beyond these performance modes, we recommend upgrading to the larger 82mm IPD Turbo Plenum.

The IPD Turbo 74mm plenum is also designed to work with the higher flow IPD “Y” pipe.
