The throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to the accelerator pedal (Located between the air flow meter and the intake plenum ).

The largest part inside the throttle body is the throttle plate, which is a butterfly valve that regulates airflow. With a larger diameter body, the airflow will be greater for more power. This 74mm Butterfly Upgrade fits Competition Plenums

The almighty 996 Turbo is perhaps the perfect Porsche to benefit from IPD Plenum. The power and torque gains are substantial and immediate (no adaptation necessary).

The horsepower upgrades range from 30 to 35 and the boost response improves dramatically allowing for longer, stronger and of course nicer power curves. The IPD Plenum develops power across the entire powerband, especially where it's needed most, from mid-range to top-end.

Installation of the 996 Turbo Plenum is very difficult and installation should only be performed by an experienced and qualified Porsche technician.

The 996 Turbo 68mm version is designed to work with the factory 68mm throttle body that was OE on all factory 996 Turbos. The 68mm plenum offers similar power to the largest competition 74mm plenum.

Horsepower gains are 30-35 above the stock horsepower range and initial boost response is improved. The IPD Plenum delivers more horsepower and more torque, giving the 996 Turbo a stronger midrange and top end.

The 68mm Plenum version is perfect for the Turbo customer looking to improve engine performance over stock and moderately modified turbos under 700 horsepower.
